Shop and
Establishment Act regulates the condition of work, hours of work, payment of
wages, leave and holidays enlists the right of employees and other conditions of
work of persons employed in shops, commercial establishments, establishments
for public entertainment or amusement and other establishments in an organised
sector. This is the license that is
applicable to almost all the businesses whether big or small.
As the
license is valid for a period of five years the same is required to be renewed
on or before the expiry. The Shop and Establishment registration is a state
regulation and as a result each state follows their separate operation. The
fees for renewal of Shops & Establishment License also vary state to state.
In case of delay in renewal there is a provision of late fee also in addition
to renewal fee. Upon successful submission of renewal application the same is
approved by the department and certificate can be downloaded from the
respective site.
